Opened about 2010.

The Tappmeyer House was built 1880-1884 on Olive Street Road just west of Ross Road. It is an example of ornate Victorian Italianate architecture.  In 2003 it was moved to Millennium Park, a public park in Creve Coeur. The first floor has been restored.
The house originally sat on a 33-acre working farm that produced crops, had livestock, a large orchard, and a vegetable garden, part of which can be seen on either side of the front walk. Four generations of Tappmeyers lived in this house. Some of them can be seen in the photo below.
Like any house of that time period there is a fireplace in each room.
The living room has a few pieces from the Victorian period.

The kitchen is behind the living room.
This section of the wall allows you to see the construction.
The kitchen ice box.
The Heritage Room is off the kitchen.
The washstand
Storage cabinet.
The fireplace in the Heritage Room.

Light fixtures.

The Formal Parlor is on the front of the house.
Another fireplace.
More period furniture.

The second floor has not been restored yet.
Because we visited the house in December it was filled with seasonal decorations and toys.

For lunch we went a short distance down to Olive Blvd. to Global Quesadillaco, a local chain that we were not familiar with.
The menu offered a variety of Mexican food.

Comments:  This house is not regularly open to the public so we took advantage of a Christmas open house to tour it. A family member who when young spent time in the house with her grandparents served as our initial guide which made it more interesting as she shared memories.

The house is definitely a work in progress as they could use more period furniture on the first floor. The restoration work done on the house itself is well done.

Th restaurant was very casual; you order at the counter and they offer carryout. Everyone thought their food was excellent.
